Custom CNC Tooling Design and Manufacturing Capabilities
BORACO treats the machining problem as a complete system so the custom tool remains manufacturable, inspectable and compatible with real production conditions—from process review through design, manufacture, inspection and initial trial support.
01Engineering review
The review starts with the drawing or sample, machined features, material and hardness, tolerance, surface finish, machine, interface, production volume, current tool and process problem. Cutting-edge access, force direction, system rigidity and chip evacuation are assessed before the tool architecture is selected.
02Tool design
Toolbody, insert pocket, clamping method, cutting-edge position, interface, internal coolant and adjustment strategy are designed as one assembly. The solution may use ISO inserts, custom form inserts or both, depending on function, repeatability and repeat supply.
03Manufacture and inspection
After design release, the toolbody is manufactured from dedicated tooling steels. Functional characteristics such as runout, diameter, length, angles, edge height, pocket position, concentricity and datum surfaces are inspected using a method matched to the tool architecture and tolerance requirements.
04Reverse engineering
Reverse engineering is not limited to copying an existing tool. Required performance, previous failure or instability, insert architecture, manufacturing route and repeat supply are reviewed to create a controllable and repeatable design.
05Support
Starting application information is supplied with the tool. Feedback from the real trial—component quality, wear pattern, chip evacuation and process stability—is reviewed, and any revision is based on test evidence rather than a generic assumption.
